EA SPORTS FC 26 May Feedback Update Patch Notes (7th May 2026)

EA SPORTS FC 26's May Feedback Update takes aim at Bruiser, one of the most complained-about Playstyles in recent community discussion.

Bruiser has been a sore point in the FC 26 community for a while, and EA has finally moved on it. The May Feedback Update, live today, slightly reduces the boost Bruiser and Bruiser+ provide in shoulder challenge situations while adding a matching boost for dribblers running Enforcer or Enforcer+. The goal is a more balanced head-to-head, and on paper at least, it reads like a sensible middle ground rather than a flat nerf.

Beyond the Playstyle numbers, the update also reworks how players react after contact. Stronger tacklers can still knock weaker players off the ball, but weaker tacklers will no longer bully through stronger dribblers, which was clearly never the intention. Detection of challenges from behind has also been tightened, with the system now predicting player movement to cancel challenges that would result in back contact. There's also a fix for the Bruiser+ icon incorrectly appearing when it wasn't actually influencing the play, which I imagine was causing no small amount of confusion in replays.

It's a focused update rather than a sweeping one, but the contact physics fix alone could clean up some frustrating moments. The complete notes are below.

In our latest Feedback Update, we’re addressing the Bruiser Playstyle following ongoing community discussion.

We’ve been closely monitoring how Playstyles are performing and testing changes between attributes and Playstyles. As a result, in an upcoming update, we’ve slightly reduced the boost from Bruiser and Bruiser+ in shoulder challenge situations and added a matching boost for dribblers with Enforcer or Enforcer+, creating a more even, head-to-head interaction

We’ve also improved how players react after contact, so stronger tacklers can still knock weaker players off balance, but weaker tacklers will no longer overpower stronger dribblers in unrealistic ways. Detection of challenges from behind has been refined, with the system predicting player movement ahead and cancelling challenges that would result in back contact. Additionally, we’ve addressed cases where the Bruiser+ icon appeared when it wasn’t impacting the play.
