CS2 Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (7th May 2026)

Valve's May 7th CS2 update tidies up Cache and fixes a viewmodel FOV bug that's been quietly misrepresenting your setup to other players.

Cache gets the most attention in this May 7th CS2 update, with Valve patching various map holes and simplifying grenade clipping across several areas. If you've been throwing smokes that clip or bounce in ways that don't match what you'd expect, some of that should feel cleaner now.

The more interesting fix is the viewmodel FOV correction. Your FOV setting was not correctly networking to other clients, meaning what you see locally and what others see on your end could differ. It's a subtle bug, but in a game where weapon positioning and visual reads matter, it's not a trivial one. The ragdoll death velocity fix is a nice cleanup too, even if it's more about visual polish than anything that affects how rounds play out.

On the cosmetic side, NIGHTMODE II Music Kits are now available in standard and StatTrak versions through the Store tab. Not my thing, but the StatTrak variant tracking kills with a custom kit has its audience. This is a small patch overall, more housekeeping than overhaul, but Cache players in particular should notice the difference.

Here's the full breakdown.
