CS2 Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (24th April 2026)
Valve has pushed a CS2 update focused on Animgraph 2 animation fixes and a handful of miscellaneous bug patches, including a crash that was hitting players on startup.
If you've been seeing your XM1014 shells flicker mid-reload, or noticed the dual Berettas behaving oddly in spectator mode, Valve's latest CS2 update has you covered. The 24th April patch is squarely focused on Animgraph 2 fixes, working through a list of animation issues that have been quietly annoying players for a while.
The leg snapping when you stop and immediately continue in the same direction is gone, foot IK transitions are smoother, and the third-person bomb plant animation now lines up more closely with what you see in first person. None of this changes how the game plays at a mechanical level, but cleaner animations mean less visual noise during gunfights, and in a game where reads matter, that's not trivial.
On the misc side, there's a fix for a startup crash that was triggering when a non-default audio device was set, either in settings or via config. Dropped weapons with silencers will now correctly show their silenced state too, which was a small but confusing oversight. A focused patch rather than a sweeping one, but the animation work in particular shows Animgraph 2 is still being actively ironed out.
Here's the full breakdown.
