CS2 Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (22nd April 2026)
A small but focused CS2 update lands, tidying up ledge movement, viewmodel animations, and trade offer limits.
Yesterday's CS2 update was the heavier one. This one, posted via the official Steam announcement on 22nd April, is considerably lighter, but a couple of changes are worth unpacking.
The ground smoothing adjustment on thin ledges is the most gameplay-relevant fix here. Ledge movement in CS2 has occasionally produced inconsistent results where the geometry is very narrow, and smoothing out that behaviour should make positioning on those spots feel less erratic. It's a small fix, but competitive players who rely on precise off-angle holds will notice. The viewmodel animation tweaks under the AnimGraph 2 system are minor, though Valve has been quietly iterating on that system for a while now, any change there is part of a longer-running effort to clean up first-person feel.
The trade offer cap is the oddest addition: CS2 items in a single trade are now capped at 1,000. I can't imagine many legitimate trades hitting that ceiling, so this reads more like a bot or abuse prevention measure than anything affecting regular players. A texture assignment correction rounds things out. Slim patch overall, but Valve is clearly keeping the cadence going.
