CS2 Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (14th May 2026)
Cache gets some geometry fixes and Valve has patched out a grenade cancel exploit in today's CS2 update.
Cache is the headline here. Today's CS2 update patches several holes in the map, corrects surface types on various materials, and adds bullet-blocking grating to some windows. If you've been playing Cache and something felt off about where bullets were landing or penetrating, this should clean that up.
The more interesting gameplay fix is the grenade throw cancellation exploit. Players could cancel a throw after it had already started, specifically near the end of the pin pull animation. That's exactly the kind of micro-exploit that competitive players find and abuse, so getting it closed out is a good call.
On the cosmetic side, NIGHTMODE II music kits are getting a new round MVP anthem, tagged as roundmvpanthem_02, playing at a 1:5 ratio. Not a patch that reshapes the meta, but Cache players will notice the difference and the grenade fix matters at any level of play.
