CS2 Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (14th April 2026)
Valve pushes another round of Animgraph 2 beta fixes, tidying up animation glitches that have been bothering players in third-person and during weapon switches.
Valve dropped a small but focused CS2 update on April 14th, and almost all of it lives inside the Animgraph 2 beta build. If you've been opting into the AG2 beta, you'll notice this patch is essentially a cleanup pass on the visual jank that's been creeping into the game's animations.
The fixes are more meaningful than they might look on paper. Corrected backing-into-corner poses, a missing knife draw animation, and pops when switching weapons mid-run or after throwing a grenade are all the sort of thing that chips away at the game's feel during a live round. The head wobble while planting C4 was particularly distracting, and I'm glad that one's gone. Third-person aim stuttering also gets a pass, which matters more than it sounds for spectators and replay viewers trying to read what's happening in a clutch.
Outside the beta branch, there's one standalone fix: a case where ladder descents were faster than intended. Minor, but gets exploited in pro play once it's known. To opt into the Animgraph 2 beta, Valve has instructions on the Steam support page. Everything in the update is listed below.
