Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (28th April 2026)
Cache is back in the competitive pool, Dust II gets a newly uncovered jump spot, and a handful of animation and sound fixes round out the latest CS2 update.
Cache is back. Valve's 28th April update adds the classic map to Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes, which is the headline move here and one a lot of players have been waiting on.
Dust II also gets a quiet but meaningful tweak: the Mid Box (Xbox) has been uncovered to expose a jump spot that was apparently always there, just hidden. The patch notes' own parenthetical "on purpose this time" suggests Valve is well aware of how that reads. Whether that spot reshapes mid-control at a high level remains to be seen in practice, but any change to Dust II's mid tends to ripple outward. Stronghold and Poseidon have both been updated to their latest Community Workshop versions, and Office gets a collision fix on the CT-side tarp that was presumably letting players clip through.
On the smaller end, the Talon and Karambit knives now sit correctly in hand during defuse animations, a visual bug that's been quietly annoying knife skin owners for a while. There's also a fix for a bug that let players hold no weapon after throwing a grenade, which is the sort of edge-case exploit that competitive players absolutely would have found a use for. The complete notes are below.
