Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (17th April 2026)
Valve has pushed another Animgraph 2 beta update for Counter-Strike 2, tightening up movement animations and fixing a HE grenade throwback.
This one's squarely for the Animgraph 2 beta crowd. Valve pushed a new update yesterday targeting the animgraph_2_beta build, and while it's not a sweeping overhaul, there's enough here to notice in-game.
The most visible fix is the HE grenade throw animation, which had issues on both viewmodel and worldmodel. Beyond that, Valve has adjusted foot IK during idle stances, dialled back the head dip on counter-strafe animations, and done minor polish work on turn animations during plant sequences. That counter-strafe head dip tweak is the one I'd watch closely, even small visual feedback changes during a stop-and-shoot can affect how readable your own movement feels under pressure.
If you're not already on the beta build, you'll need to opt in manually via Steam. Valve also flags that connecting to a server running a different build may throw a fatal error, so coordinate with whoever you're playing with before jumping in. Here's the full breakdown.
