Counter-Strike 2 Update Patch Notes (14th April 2026)
Valve's latest CS2 patch is all about the Animgraph 2 beta, cleaning up a string of animation bugs that have been making third-person movement look rough.
Valve dropped a Counter-Strike 2 update yesterday evening, and almost everything in it targets the Animgraph 2 beta build. If you haven't opted in yet, this patch won't change much for you, but for those testing AG2 it's a meaningful round of polish.
The fixes cover several issues that have been making animations look janky in the beta: wrong poses when backing into corners, stuttering in third-person aim, popping when switching weapons mid-run or after throwing a grenade, and head wobbling during C4 plants. Missing knife draw animations have also been added back in. None of these are earth-shattering changes, but animation fidelity matters in a game where reading opponent movement is part of the skill ceiling, and these were the kind of visual glitches that erode confidence in a beta build.
Outside the AG2 work, Valve fixed a case where players could descend ladders faster than intended. Small, but ladder movement exploits have a history of mattering in pro play. Here's the full breakdown.
