Corsair Cove Patch #2: Crash Fixes and Gameplay (6th August 2026)
Patch #2 tackles stability head-on with fixes for several crashes that plagued early players, including a specific Hair Graphics Quality issue and a rare Barbos Bay event crash.

Corsair Cove's second patch lands today as a stability-focused update, moving past the initial launch window and into the phase where developers hunt down the crashes that slip through early testing. The notes list five distinct crash fixes, revealing where the game's pain points actually are once thousands of players start interacting with it simultaneously.
The Hair Graphics Quality setting crash is the kind of bug that affects a specific subset of players, those who fiddle with graphics options, but once reported, it becomes a priority because it's a hard crash, not a cosmetic glitch. The Barbos Bay event crash is rarer, which typically means it was harder to reproduce and therefore took longer to isolate. Both are now fixed, which removes two friction points that could have driven away players during their first few hours.
Beyond crashes, the patch addresses display errors that misled players about game state: crew upkeep values showing incorrectly in the shipbuilding menu, and a false "No drifters available" error during Pirate Camp construction. These aren't crashes, but they're worse in some ways. They create confusion about whether the game is working as intended. A player seeing incorrect upkeep numbers might make bad economic decisions; a false error message might make them think they've hit a progression wall. Both are now corrected.
The visual fixes. Ships clipping through islands at Buccaneer's End, fire disappearing at the Pier when zoomed out. Fall into the category of things that don't break the game but do break immersion. They're the kind of detail work that separates a rough launch from a polished one. The localisation fixes across English, German, French, and Russian suggest the game shipped with at least some text issues in those languages, and the patch cleans them up.
What's absent from this patch is any balance change, new content, or feature addition. This is purely maintenance work: stability, clarity, and presentation. That's appropriate for a second patch, but it also means any systemic complaints about progression speed, economy tuning, or core gameplay loops remain unaddressed. The notes don't mention a client download size or any maintenance window, which suggests this is a straightforward update with no server downtime required.
The patch notes explicitly ask players to leave Steam reviews, framing feedback as the primary input for future priorities. That's a direct signal that the developers are watching what lands and what doesn't, and it suggests the next patch's focus will depend on what the community reports now. For now, Corsair Cove is getting more stable, and that's the foundation everything else builds on.
