Corsair Cove Patch #1: Tutorial Hint Fixes (1st August 2026)
The first patch for Corsair Cove targets a frustrating blocker: tutorial hints that refuse to disappear, trapping new players mid-game. A new save guard system will clean them up automatically.

Corsair Cove's first patch lands just over a week after launch, and it zeroes in on one specific problem: tutorial hints that get stuck on screen and prevent progression. This is the kind of blocker that kills retention. A player can't move forward, can't dismiss the hint, and the game becomes unplayable. The team has identified at least two separate instances where this happens and has implemented fixes for both.
The most visible culprit was the "Place your Pier here" hint, which could refuse to disappear even after the player had already placed the pier. The patch adds a save guard system that automatically clears any stuck hints once you progress to the next objective. This is a pragmatic approach: if the hint is still there when you load an existing save, you don't need to do anything. Just keep playing, and the system will remove it for you. It's not a perfect solution (ideally the hint would never stick in the first place), but it prevents the game from becoming unplayable for anyone who hit the bug before this patch went live.
The second major fix addresses a progression blocker after the Barbos Bay event. Closing the journey summary screen would sometimes leave the objective stuck unless the player selected the Pier again. That's a friction point that could easily frustrate a new player into quitting, especially if they don't realise they need to interact with a specific UI element to unstick the game. The patch also removed all community events except immigration events while the tutorial is active, which reduces noise during onboarding and prevents new players from being distracted by mechanics they haven't learned yet.
What matters here is scope. This is a small patch addressing specific, reproducible bugs that affect new players during their first few hours. It's not a balance pass, not a content drop, and not a feature addition. That's appropriate for a game that launched less than two weeks ago and is still settling. The team is clearly monitoring player feedback closely and prioritising fixes that could cause someone to bounce off entirely.
However, the "save guard" approach to the Pier hint reveals something worth noting: the underlying issue may not be fully resolved. The system clears the hint during progression rather than preventing it from sticking in the first place. That means players who load a save before this patch may still see the hint appear, even if it will eventually disappear. It's a workaround, not a root cause fix. For most players, that will be fine. For anyone who hit the bug and then reloaded before patching, the experience is still slightly compromised.

First of all, thank you so much for all your reviews! The entire team is incredibly happy to see how well Corsair Cove has been received by you. We are also listening closely to your feedback and are already working on ways to make the game even better for everyone.
This first small patch is the first step in that direction. It mainly focuses on fixing tutorial hints getting stuck, while also bringing some additional improvements and fixes.
Here are the full patch notes:
Changelog
v1.1.1.241792
Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed a rare case where the tutorial could get stuck when closing the journey summary screen after completing the "Barbos Bay" event.
- Removed all community events other than immigration events while the tutorial is active.
- Fixed the "Place your Pier here" hint occasionally getting stuck.
- Added a save guard system to remove stuck hints during progression and when loading a save.
- Fixed an issue where, after returning from Barbos Bay and closing the journey summary mini overview, the objective would not continue unless the Pier was selected again.
More details about the save guards
We want to provide a little more detail about one of the fixes we implemented.
The "Place your Pier here" hint may still appear for some players when loading an existing save. We have now added a system that will automatically clear this hint once you progress to the next objective.
So if you still see the hint after loading your save, simply continue playing and progress to the next goal — the hint will be removed automatically.
