Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Call of Duty: Warzone Notes (29th April 2026)

Warzone's mid-season update brings back Hot Pursuit, introduces Spikes to Buy Stations, and previews a significant anti-cheat requirement tied to TPM and Secure Boot.

Hot Pursuit is back. The vehicle-driven cat-and-mouse mode that debuted in Blackout in 2019 returns in the Season 03 Reloaded update, now set on Avalon with Police hunting Thieves across 100-player Solos and Quads lobbies. It's a fun throwback, and the mode's vehicle abilities, radar pulses, Active Camo dirt bikes, and wall vision for cops, give it enough mechanical texture to hold up against modern Warzone.

The bigger story for PC players is the anti-cheat preview. Starting Season 04, Microsoft Azure Attestation will be required to access most playlists, meaning your system will need TPM and Secure Boot enabled. Players who fail attestation get pushed into a limited matchmaking pool, away from compliant PC players and console entirely. I think this is the right call; hardware-level verification is one of the few approaches that actually puts cheaters somewhere uncomfortable. The carve-outs for Nuketown 24/7 and Battle Royale Casual are a sensible concession for players on older hardware.

Elsewhere, Spikes are a new high-powered perk category available exclusively at Buy Stations, with each match offering a random selection of two from three options. Supply Box loot has also been rebalanced, and the final circle now disables items the moment Buy Stations shut down, cutting off the gas-camping strats that have plagued endgame for a while.

Here's everything that changed.
