Brighter Shores Apothecary Upgrades Patch Notes (11th May 2026)
Blacksmiths can now forge upgrades for the standard potion station, adding an action boost that doubles XP, knowledge, and potion output.
in today's Brighter Shores update is a new crafting loop for Blacksmiths: you can now forge upgrades for the standard potion station using iron at the goblin forge. The first upgrade installs an action boost button on the station, which doubles your XP, knowledge, and potion output in one go, exactly like profession equipment already works. Further upgrades chip away at the cooldown, so there's a clear progression path here rather than a one-and-done unlock.
One upgrade is available at each Blacksmith milestone starting from milestone 1, which means this scales across your character's progression rather than locking the good stuff behind endgame. I like that the system mirrors existing mechanics instead of introducing something entirely new to learn. It slots in cleanly.
On the quality-of-life side, camera rotation and zoom now work during mine cart sequences, and the coin pouch in the toolbelt finally shows an exact count on hover. A handful of bug fixes round things out, including the fix for players appearing to float over the river in Big River Cavern for anyone who hasn't completed the Fractured Reality quest. Full Patch Notes
Blacksmiths can now forge upgrades for the standard potion station. The first upgrade you install will add an action boost button to the standard potion station. Just like profession equipment, activating this action boost will give you double rewards (i.e. double XP, double knowledge and 2 potions). Subsequent upgrades will reduce the cooldown of the action boost.
Apothecary upgrades are forged from iron at the goblin forge. There is one upgrade available in each milestone of Blacksmith, starting at milestone 1. You can find more information in the Blacksmith recipe book and in the Blacksmith profession interface.
Quality of life improvements
• You can now rotate and zoom the camera at all times while doing mine cart work.
• Add a tooltip to the coins pouch in the toolbelt interface which shows the exact number of coins you have.
Bug fixes
• If you have not completed the Fractured Reality quest, you will no longer see players standing in midair over the river in Big River Cavern.
• Only the unicorn pufferfish now has a unicorn horn when being chopped into pufferfish sashimi.
• Sea spray no longer appears in the middle of the beach in Stony Coast.
