Crossplay being silently switched off for every player on every platform is about as critical as bugs get, so it's good to see Embark move fast on this one. Hotfix 1.26.1 is live now, and the headline fix restores crossplay that was getting toggled off whenever players adjusted the crossplay setting, a particularly nasty issue for a game that launched with cross-platform play as a core feature.

Beyond that, the patch addresses several of the more frequent crash causes, though Embark notes more crash fixes are still in the pipeline. There's also a minor cosmetic fix for certain backpacks that were showing up without their color variants. Not glamorous, but matters when players are investing in their loadout appearance.

This is a lean patch, but a necessary one. Losing crossplay functionality two days into a major update like Riven Tides would have been a rough experience for anyone trying to squad up across platforms. The complete notes are below.

Full Patch Notes

Hello Raiders!

We’ve pushed a Hotfix to address a critical issue that turned off Crossplay, and we were able to put in a few crash fixes and a solution to a problem with some color variants on certain backpacks. We still have a few more fixes to more common crashes in the works.

  • Fix for crossplay being toggled off on all platforms after changing the crossplay setting.
  • We’ve patched some of the more frequent causes for crashes.
  • We’ve fixed an issue that caused certain backpacks to be missing color variations.

Thanks for the fast feedback! Keep scouring the coast!
