Assassin's Creed Shadows 1.1.12 Patch Notes (27th July 2026)
The final scheduled patch for Assassin's Creed Shadows arrives tomorrow with targeted fixes for Domains modifiers and a major correction to how conditional perks scale on enhanced gear.

Title Update 1.1.12 arrives tomorrow, 28 July at 14:00 UTC (10:00 AM EST / 7:00 AM PST), with Nintendo Switch 2 receiving the update two days later on 30 July. This is described as a closing title update focused on bug fixes rather than balance changes, which signals Ubisoft's shift away from active development on Shadows. The patch sizes vary significantly across platforms: PlayStation 5 players download just 2.3 GB, whilst Xbox Series X|S users face 20.42 GB, and PC Steam players need 2.9 GB.
The most consequential fix targets conditional perks on enhanced gear. The patch corrects a bug where perks triggered by specific conditions. Backstabs, critical hits, headshots, posture attacks, or hitting afflicted/vulnerable enemies. Were not receiving their intended 50% boost when engraved on enhanced items, despite the UI displaying them as boosted. This affects any build relying on conditional perk scaling, which is particularly significant in Domains where gear optimisation directly determines run viability. Players who invested in conditional perk builds will now see their actual damage output match what their stat sheets promised.
Domains receive substantial attention. The patch fixes "Naoe's Grab" and "Throw" ability failing to break enemy armour under the "Find the Gap" modifier, restores the "Fading Perfection" engraving to its intended 20% health cost instead of the catastrophic 99%, and removes the punishing scenario where "Adrenaline Drain" and "Ability Lockdown" modifiers could appear together. A critical progression blocker is also addressed: players no longer become stuck in the first Domain when the "Speedrun" modifier is active. These are not cosmetic issues. They directly unblock content that was previously inaccessible or unplayable for certain modifier combinations.
Quest-related fixes address soft-locks in the story campaign. "Claws of Awaji" no longer traps Tsuyu in terrain, "Buried Secrets" prevents Rufino from disappearing after respawn, and the "Black Tides" finale corrects animation errors where Eamon would hold a sword with a severed arm and where Yasuke and Naoe would inexplicably wear helmets during a cutscene. These are the kind of immersion-breaking moments that damage a story-driven experience, particularly in a narrative-focused DLC pack.
The patch also restores missing engravings from trinkets including "Masakado's Vengeance" that disappeared following the 1.1.11 update. This recovery suggests the previous patch introduced an unintended regression that this update reverses. However, the absence of balance adjustments or new content confirms that Ubisoft has concluded its post-launch support cycle for Shadows. What remains unaddressed, and likely will remain so, are any systemic complaints about Domains difficulty, pacing, or design philosophy that existed before this patch.

Bug Fixes & Improvements
Gameplay
- Fixed an issue in Domains with "Naoe's Grab" and "Throw" ability not breaking enemy armor while the "Find the Gap" modifier was active.
- Fixed an issue in Domains with the "Adrenaline Drain" and "Ability Lockdown" modifiers occasionally appearing together, resulting in an unintended and punishing combination.
- Fixed an issue in Domains with the “Momochi Sandayu” boss fight playing an incorrect animation, instead of a death animation when defeated.
- Fixed an issue where players become stuck in the first Domain when the "Speedrun" modifier was active.
- Fixed an issue with the "Fading Perfection" engraving removing 99% of Naoe's health on ability use instead of the intended 20%.
Audio/Language
- Fixed an issue with Yasuke's "Meca Mask" audio not playing correctly during Black Tides Story Pack's cutscene.
- Fixed an issue with some text in Simplified Chinese showing squares (□) instead of the correct characters.
Visual/Graphics
- Fixed an issue where the "Peasant Hat" engraving showed its base value of 6% instead of its actual boosted value in the Inventory and Forge menus.
- Fixed an issue with the "Pirate King Hat" perk description being incorrect.
- Fixed an issue with the Forge's unlock condition for "Reduce all cooldowns by 10% on deflect" engraving appearing blank.
- Fixed an issue with the Forge's unlock condition for "Reduce all cooldowns by 5% on critical strike" engraving appearing blank.
- Fixed an issue with several assassination perk descriptions being incorrectly displayed. They showed hardcoded values (e.g. always "+1") instead of updating correctly when the perk was upgraded.
- Fixed an issue potentially causing players to find significant frame rate drops occurring in the Domains, after killing enemies when the "Avenger" modifier is active.
Gears & Perks
- Fixed an issue with perks triggered by specific conditions (backstabs, critical hits, headshots, posture attacks, or hitting afflicted/vulnerable enemies above or below half health) were not receiving their 50% boost when engraved on enhanced gear, despite appearing as boosted in the UI and stat sheet.
- Fixed an issue in Domains with "Kunai" and "Shuriken" incorrectly bypassing enemy armor when the "Find the Gap" modifier was active.
- Fixed an issue in Domains with the "Ice Shard" effect from the "Shiver of the Mountain Armor" bypassing enemy armor when the "Find the Gap" modifier was active.
- Fixed an issue where perks that prevent death did not trigger before the “You Only Live Once” modifier.
- Fixed an issue with "Naoe's Memento Licere perk" not working correctly. No money was gained and no notification would appear when grabbing enemies.
- Fixed an issue following the 1.1.11 update where engravings from certain trinkets including "Masakado's Vengeance" were missing and could no longer be transferred or applied to other items.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
Quests
- "Claws of Awaji": Fixed an issue where Tsuyu could become stuck in the terrain if the player jumped before using the "grappling hook".
- "Buried Secrets": Fixed an issue where dying and respawning could cause Rufino to disappear, making it impossible to open the barrier required to continue the mission.
- "Black Tides": Fixed an issue during the final fight against Eamon, if Yasuke used an execution that severed Eamon's forearm, the following cutscene incorrectly showed him holding his sword with the missing arm.
- "Black Tides": Fixed an issue during the epilogue cutscene, Yasuke and Naoe could incorrectly appear wearing their headgear, this was particularly noticeable with larger or masked helmets.
- "Black Tides": Fixed an issue with the Naoe and Yasuke wanted posters missing from the wall decoration selection at the hideout.
