'83 - Quality-of-Life Patch #5 Notes (25th June 2026)
Round start speeches, better battle chatter, and UI clarity arrive in Quality-of-Life Patch #5. '83 also hits Steam Summer Sale at 50% off.

Quality-of-Life Patch #5 is live, and it's a solid round of polish that addresses some friction points players have been flagging. Round start speeches now vary depending on whether you're attacking, defending, or playing a neutral mode, small touch, but it adds atmosphere during those final pre-round seconds. The audio overhaul is the real meat here: improved battle chatter for low ammo and stamina warnings, suppressed reload callouts, and better tank-specific comms for vehicle crews. Tank engine audio is now server-aware too, which should kill those desync issues where your mate's tank sounds like it's in a different dimension.
UI got a refresh as well. Encumbrance text turns red when you're over weight limit, objective icons are clearer at screen edges, and the grenade launcher reload animation finally looks finished when it actually is. A few nasty collision bugs got squashed, no more getting stuck in logs near Woodpecker or falling through marketplace roofs on Fulda. As-Fjord Siege picked up 150 extra attacker tickets and some seeding tweaks for smaller player counts, while As-Woodpecker NATO got terrain adjustments around the checkpoint station.

- Fix for player getting stuck in logs near sawmill building - Woodpecker
- Fix for getting stuck on cooker collision + intersecting with wall in a house in Woodpecker
- Fixed guardrails on the NATO Outpost tower in Fulda Gap
- Fix for Guard Tower in Fulda NATO outpost shooting through railing + Cosmetic changes
- Fix collision to stop player falling through the marketplace kiosk roof on Fulda
- Fix Rock placement to prevent player getting stuck inside
- Removed grass from Concrete floor in warehouse in Fjord
Audio
- Added voiced lines for round start speeches. Different lines depending on whether the player is attacking, defending or it's a neutral map (i.e. frontlines). Play only for the local player, and only triggers during the final 5 seconds of the pre-round start screen
- Interior concrete small environment firing audio for 1p MP5SD3
- Made tails slightly louder on M1911
- New audio to support binocular equip/holster.
- Made the tank engine audio handling server aware. The server now tracks and replicates a tank engine state out to connected clients
- Minor mix changes to 1p firing.
- Added gentle compressor to master output
- Fixed minor sync issues with weapon reloads on AK-74 and MP5SD3
- Added a missing reference for one of the 'neck shot' death sounds
- Added battle chatter for Low Ammo, Out of Ammo and Low Stamina Added alternative "reloading" chatter lines when suppressed
- Re-enabled comms rose for tankers, and set it to now play tank specific lines instead of infantry ones.
- Added some situational chatter when contesting objectives, which changes depending on who is capping, the direction the cap is moving, etc
- Audio: Improvements to bullet impacts across the board, supporting 6 most important materials esp. new bullet impact designs for glass materials
- Battlechatter lines for tanks.
- Minor mix changes - made 3p battlechatter slightly quieter and adjusted attenuation so that it's quieter at distance. Announcer and player breathing minor mix changes as well
UI
- Vehicle passenger UI widget now shows different icons to better indicate who is in which tank seat
- Encumbrance text on loadout menu now turns red to indicate when a player's loadout is over the max encumbrance weight
- Icon updates for single shot weapon ammunition, to fix the "ghost" projectile problem on the HUD
- Icons on the objective overview correctly update their "orders" overlay when an objective changes hands
- Objective icons on the edge of the screen now have a larger and more clear margin between themselves and the viewport limits
- Attack/Defend orders overlay now continues to display when objectives are off screen instead of being hidden while the icon was on the edge of the screen
Code
- Made freelook camera interpolate back to the weapon quicker
- Made the weapon quickly move to the camera direction after a vault instead of snapping
- Fixed a bug that causes unintended negative score to be given when exploding an already burning enemy vehicle.
- Added objective contest score for players who stay in a contested objective for 10 seconds.
- Adjusted final reload stage for M203 and GP-25 grenade launcher to be more intuitive

- In Assault mode if the attackers run out of tickets, the match time is reduced to 2 mins (designer setting)
- Speculative fix to a crash to desktop
Design
- Fixed incorrect physics materials on multiple materials
- Adjusted vfx of 105mm, 122mm and 220mm impacts, increase intensity and duration of smoke
- Updated the display names for the M870 shotgun and Model 653 carbine
- Fix explosion variants not appearing for 155mm explosions
- Applied 3p muzzle flash VFX's for tanks
- New VFX for 1p and 3p HEAT and HE/HEP/HESH projectiles
- Encumbrance text on loadout menu now turns red to indicate when a player's loadout is over the max encumbrance weight
- Using the menu button to respawn (suicide) will now close the escape menu on confirmation instead of leaving it open over the top
Servers
- Fixed RCON listMapRotations command so it displays map rotations where it would display none previously.
Level Design
As-Fjord Siege
- Ticket amount for attackers has been increased by 150, capture point in D has been amended, seeding logic has been applied, creating smaller map/round for low player counts.
As-Woodpecker NATO
- Adjusted the terrain near by the checkpoint station and adjusted terrain in the Pact HQ, Additional swamp gaps added where the shooting range used to be.
