7 Days to Die V2.6 b14 EXP Update Patch Notes (21st March 2026)
The Fun Pimps have pushed another Experimental build for 7 Days to Die, and the headline fix is a big one: those brutal hitches in cities have been tracked down and squashed.
The Fun Pimps have pushed V2.6 b14 to the Experimental branch, and the headline fix is one that a lot of players have been waiting on. According to the official Steam patch notes, the team identified the root cause of severe hitches in cities and addressed it directly. If you've been dropping frames the moment you hit a dense urban area, this build should make a noticeable difference.
Beyond that performance fix, the update is a smaller one. The BiomeProgression property comment in serverconfig.xml has been updated for clarity, the default JarRefund value has been set to 60 in serverconfig.xml, and road texture blending on low settings when loading a new world for the first time has been corrected. Nothing that rewrites how you play, but the city hitch fix alone makes this worth pulling down if you're running Experimental.
Full patch notes below.
