Ubisoft has finally announced the release date for its highly anticipated free-to-play FPS game, XDefiant. The game is set to launch on May 21, allowing players on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC to dive into this new gaming experience.

During the Preseason starting on May 21, players will have access to 14 maps, five modes, and an array of 24 weapons with 44 attachments. One of the standout features of XDefiant is the introduction of five factions - Libertad, Phantoms, Echelon, Cleaners, and Dedsec, each bringing a unique style to the game.

Following the Preseason, Ubisoft plans to release new seasons every three months. Each new season will introduce a new faction, three additional weapons, three fresh maps, and a 90-tier battle pass for players to progress through.

XDefiant has faced several delays in its development process. Initially announced as Tom Clancy's XDefiant in July 2021, the game underwent changes that led to delays in its release. These delays were attributed to issues uncovered during beta testing, as well as failing console certification tests from Microsoft and Sony.

Despite the setbacks, Ubisoft has been working diligently to ensure that XDefiant delivers an exceptional gaming experience for players. As the game transitions from Tom Clancy's XDefiant to Ubisoft XDefiant, gamers can look forward to exploring the diverse factions and exciting gameplay elements when the game launches on May 21.
