Ubisoft is charting a course for adventure with the announcement of an open beta for its much-anticipated pirate game, Skull & Bones. Set to run from February 8-11 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, the beta promises a treasure trove of content for eager buccaneers.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore diverse locales such as the Red Isle, the Coast of Africa, the Open Seas, and the East Indies. The game encourages players to engage with various in-game factions, offering the choice of peaceful interaction or combative conquest. The main campaign contracts serve as a guide through this vast world, culminating in the "Exterminate the Rat" mission available during the beta.
A highlight of the beta is its support for cross-progression and cross-play, ensuring a seamless experience across platforms. Progress will be capped at the rank of Brigand (Tier 6, Rank 1), with achievements carrying over to the full game upon its release.
Adding to the excitement, Ubisoft has also released a new trailer outlining the first-year roadmap for Skull & Bones. Players can look forward to epic battles against legendary pirates, engaging endgame content, world events, and the chance to build their own pirate empire.
After a tumultuous development journey, including multiple delays and a reboot in 2020, Skull & Bones is finally set to make its grand debut on February 16, 2024. Fans who can't wait to hoist the Jolly Roger can gain early access by pre-ordering the Premium edition, allowing them to play three days ahead of the official launch.
