According to Kotaku, insider sources familiar with the game's development have hinted that while Rockstar's initial target was an early 2025 release, there is a possibility of a shift to 2026. This adjustment is being considered as a fallback plan in case of unforeseen production challenges.

The excitement peaked when Rockstar revealed the first official trailer for GTA 6 in December. The trailer amassed an impressive over 90 million views within just 24 hours of its release, setting the stage for high anticipation among fans.

In addition to the anticipated release date, it has been confirmed that GTA 6 will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and will feature Vice City as one of its key locations. Furthermore, the game will introduce a groundbreaking element with a female protagonist, a first in the series' history.

Earlier this year, Rockstar made headlines by announcing plans to terminate its hybrid work policy in favor of full-time in-office work citing productivity and security as primary reasons, as reported by Bloomberg.

The company's effort to combat its notorious crunch culture, which previously demanded excessive overtime from its employees, has shown positive progress. However, concerns regarding pay transparency, promotions, and workplace inclusivity remain, prompting the IWGB Game Workers Union to advocate for better working conditions.
