If you're a fan of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, then you're in for a treat with the latest update 29.1 that has just gone live on PC. This update introduces some exciting new features, including destructible terrain, a new pickaxe weapon, and a collaboration with Ducati.

One of the standout features of this update is the addition of destructible terrain, which brings new strategic possibilities to the game. Players can now create trenches to avoid enemy fire using throwable items like Frag Grenades and vehicle explosions. Additionally, a new pickaxe weapon has been introduced, allowing players to reshape the environment. However, it's worth noting that terrain made from concrete, cement, rock, or stone cannot be destroyed.

These new additions are exclusive to the Rondo map, which was recently added to the game in December. Krafton's 2024 roadmap mentioned that only some environmental destruction features would be introduced in April, with plans for further improvements and expansions in the future. Destructible environments have always been a popular feature in games and are also highlighted in upcoming titles like Marvel Rivals.

In a unique collaboration, PUBG: Battlegrounds has partnered with Ducati, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. Players can unlock Ducati-themed vehicle skins by collecting Ducati Tokens from Step Up Package and Loot Cache Packs, available for purchase on PC now and coming to consoles on April 18 for a limited time.

Aside from the new features, the Rondo map has undergone some changes following its addition to ranked play. The frequency of the EMP Zone occurrence has been reduced, and the number of Emergency Cover airdrops has been adjusted. Detailed patch notes and updates for console versions are scheduled for April 18.
