Helldivers 2 Community Manager Fired for Representing Fans

It’s been a tumultuous month for Helldivers 2 as the gaming community was shaken by the recent announcement that Steam users would have to link to PSN to play. The uproar was so significant that Sony eventually backtracked on this decision, resulting in a wave of positive reviews flooding Steam to save the game's reputation.

The release of the new Polar Patriots Warbond is on the horizon amidst all the chaos. Arrowhead's announcement of this new Warbond was overshadowed by the PC-PSN linking controversy. Fortunately, PC users will no longer need to connect to PSN, a move that has been welcomed by the community.

As reported by GamesRader, unfortunately, the fallout from the PSN controversy has claimed casualties, with Helldivers 2 community manager, Spitz, seemingly being fired for advocating negative reviews and refund requests from fans. This move was to amplify the voices of PC fans who were against the PSN linking requirement.

Despite the backlash, Spitz stood by their actions, stating, "It was my job to represent the community, that's what I did." The departure of Spitz has left the community in shock, with many expressing their support and appreciation for the manager's efforts.

As the dust settles, we do think Spitz did the right thing in standing up for the community and hope that you sign the petition to re-hire them here.
