If you're a PUBG player, you're in for a treat as the original Erangel map is making a comeback. The upcoming "Erangel Classic" event is set to take players on a nostalgic trip back to the early days of PUBG, similar to how Fortnite delighted fans by reintroducing the 'OG' map.

The Erangel Classic event kicks off in May, with PC players getting access from May 14th to May 28th, 2024, and console players from May 23rd to June 6th, 2024. During this time, the classic Erangel map will replace the standard one in Normal Match, allowing players to relive the classic PUBG experience.

What can players expect from Erangel Classic? Well, get ready for gloomy, foggy, and rainy weather that will transport you back to the early days of PUBG. The starting island will see the return of bench weapons, adding a frenzy of excitement as players scramble to grab their favorite guns.

The user interface will receive a vintage makeover, featuring an old-world map, a classic font, and a nostalgic minimap. Gunplay will also take you back in time, with reduced weapon recoil on most firearms. Additionally, the iconic Tommy Gun will be reintroduced as an exclusive Care Package weapon, adding to the classic feel of the event.

Erangel Classic won't be a complete replica of the original map, as the PUBG team plans to make subtle gameplay adjustments to enhance the experience for current players. These changes, along with other nostalgic features, will be detailed in the patch notes set to release on May 13th, 2024.
