Exciting news for Cities: Skylines 2 fans turned into disappointment as Paradox Interactive announced another delay for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S releases of the game. Originally set for a spring release, the publisher is now taking a cautious approach to avoid making promises they can't keep.

As mentioned via their Forum, the delay is due to the studio's commitment to delivering a polished product. While the current plan is to evaluate an early build in April with a target release for October, Paradox is refraining from announcing a specific date. This means players might have to wait longer to experience Cities: Skylines 2 on consoles.

The recent Beach Properties DLC received a lukewarm reception from players, with many expressing disappointment over its rushed release and lack of content. This led Paradox to issue an apology and offer the DLC for free to those who purchased it separately. Ultimate Edition owners will receive additional content as compensation.

Looking ahead, the focus will be on free updates and performance enhancements rather than paid expansions. This means the planned Bridges and Ports expansion will be delayed until next year. The studio also plans to engage with a group of player representatives to shape future decisions regarding Cities: Skylines 2.

While the delays may be disappointing, fans can rest assured that Paradox Interactive is committed to delivering a high-quality experience with Cities: Skylines 2. Stay tuned for further updates and get ready to build your dream city once the game hits consoles!
