Big news in the gaming industry! Over 600 Activision QA workers have come together to form the largest video game union yet, with the support of the Communications Workers of America (CWA).

Announced on Twitter by @ABetterABK, it's official - Activision Quality Assurance testers across Minnesota, Los Angeles, and Texas have united under the banner of Activision Quality Assurance United (AQAU).

The union's formation is built on five core values: Democracy, Diversity, Equity, Solidarity, and Transparency. This move aims to bring about positive change within the company and the gaming industry as a whole by giving a voice to those who play a crucial role behind the scenes.

Thanks to Microsoft's voluntary recognition, the union now represents over 1000 QA workers under its umbrella, marking a significant milestone for labor rights in the video game sector.

According to Polygon, the final vote saw 390 "yes" and 8 "no" ballots, signaling strong support for the unionization effort.

Activision QA tester and organizing committee member Kara Fannon highlighted the importance of this move, stating, "QA and customer service tend to be among the lowest paid and least respected roles in the industry. We are unionizing to ensure our work is valued and to advocate for better working conditions."
