If you're eagerly waiting to upgrade your beloved Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4 to a next-gen version for your PS5, you might need to exercise a bit of patience. Bethesda has announced a slight delay for players who redeemed the game previously through PlayStation Plus.

The free next-gen upgrade was set to launch, allowing players on PS4 and Xbox One to transition seamlessly to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. However, members who acquired the game when it was available for free with PlayStation Plus found themselves unable to make the upgrade without purchasing the new PS5 version separately.

But fear not, fellow vault dwellers! Bethesda has assured these players that purchasing the new version is not required and they are actively working on resolving this issue.

“We’ve seen some confusion regarding the free Fallout 4 next-gen update for PlayStation Plus Extra members,” Bethesda shared. “The Fallout 4 next-gen update will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra members through the PlayStation Game Catalogue. Your patience is appreciated while the teams work on this.”

The eagerly anticipated update, which was initially planned for release last year, promises native applications for Xbox Series X/S and PS5, Performance mode, Quality mode settings, alongside stability improvements and bug fixes to enhance your wasteland experience. Players can look forward to up to 60 FPS and enhanced resolutions for a smoother post-apocalyptic journey.
