Arkane Austin, the studio behind Redfall, was set to release a major update for the game this month. However, due to the studio's closure, the update has been canceled, leaving players without the promised enhancements.

A new report from IGN reveals that the planned May update for Redfall would have removed the game's always online requirement, among other updates. This feature was initially announced by Arkane Austin in March 2023 but was never delivered. With the studio's closure, players may only have access to Redfall until the servers are eventually shut down by Microsoft and Bethesda.

In addition to the canceled May update, Redfall was also expected to receive an update around Halloween, introducing two new characters as part of the Hero Pass content. Unfortunately, this update has also been axed, along with any future support for the game.

Players who purchased the Hero Pass will be eligible for a refund for the content that will no longer be released. The disappointment among the gaming community is palpable as the anticipation for these updates was high.
