In a recent announcement on Twitter, Arkane Studios revealed that Arkane Austin will not continue development on Redfall. This news came as a shock to many fans of the game, as the fate of titles like Redfall seemed uncertain following Microsoft's decision to close four game studios, including Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks.

Despite this setback, Arkane Studios mentioned that Redfall servers will still be online for players to enjoy. This means that those who have been playing and enjoying the game will still have the opportunity to experience its unique gameplay and world.

Redfall, which launched a year ago in May 2023, initially received mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. However, the developers have been committed to improving the game post-launch. In fact, a significant update in October 2023 introduced a 60 FPS performance mode, addressing a common request from players. This shows that the team behind Redfall is dedicated to enhancing the player experience.

It's worth noting that players who purchased the Hero Pass as part of premium purchases will still receive the value of the upgrade. This move by Arkane Studios is a gesture of goodwill towards the loyal player base of Redfall.

Arkane Lyon's studio director, Dinga Bakaba, shared his thoughts on the closure of Arkane Austin, calling it "absolutely terrible" and a "gut stab." Despite this, he reassured fans that Arkane Lyon is safe and will continue working on their next project. Bakaba emphasized the importance of taking care of artists and entertainers in the industry and urged executives to prioritize creating value for them.
