An official announcement from the NHL revealed a thrilling collaboration with MultiVersus, bringing together iconic characters in a live event using cutting-edge real-time animation technology.
The highly anticipated “MultiVersus NHL Face-Off” event is scheduled to debut on April 14th at 3:30 PM EST. Fans can tune in to watch the showdown between the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights on truTV or Max’s B/R Sports Add-On.
According to the announcement, the event will showcase a fusion of two tracking technologies to recreate the on-ice action in real-time, featuring characters from MultiVersus alongside avatars of the NHL's top players.

A diverse lineup of Warner Bros. Discovery characters is set to make an appearance in the fully animated presentation. From Bugs Bunny and Batman to Wonder Woman and Shaggy, fans can expect an exciting mix of familiar faces. Notably, the Tasmanian Devil will officiate the game and perform the ceremonial puck drop.
In addition to the character lineup, the event will feature various MultiVersus content such as the “Space Jam Court, Adventure Time Tree Fort, Sky Arena, and Trophy’s E.D.G.E.” These interactive elements promise to enhance the overall viewing experience.
The inclusion of the Space Jam court adds a fun and nostalgic touch to the event, blending animation seamlessly with live sports content.
Earlier this year, Player First Games announced the official launch date for MultiVersus on May 28th after a significant hiatus. The developers have revamped the game entirely, implementing new features and updating the netcode to ensure a fresh gaming experience for fans.
