UFC 6 Drops June 19 and EA Still Won't Show It

EA Sports UFC 6 has a release date, two editions, and an expansion pass already locked in. What it doesn't have is any gameplay footage, and the game launches in less than eight weeks.

Less than eight weeks from launch and not a single frame of gameplay. That's where we are with EA Sports UFC 6, which EA quietly revealed on April 27 by dropping store listings on PlayStation and Xbox without a trailer, without a gameplay demo, and without much of anything beyond a press release and two cover athletes: Alex Pereira and Max Holloway.

The game launches June 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $69.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. That Ultimate tier comes loaded: a Fighter Pass with eight new fighters, an Expansion Pass covering two post-launch drops (winter 2026 and summer 2027), a VIP Pass with cosmetics and progress boosts, and seven days of early access starting June 12. EA is already selling the roadmap before anyone's seen the game in motion. I find it strange that a publisher this size is comfortable asking for $100 pre-orders on vibes and a paragraph of marketing copy. "Evolved striking and motion systems" tells you absolutely nothing.

According to Insider Gaming's Mike Straw, a PC version is also in development but has no confirmed release window, with a fall 2026 target previously reported. The Insider Gaming Discord community and users on r/EASportsUFC have been speculating about cross-play support based on anonymous leaker claims, though nothing official backs that up yet. The Xbox store page does mention 4K and "60FPS+" support, and the PlayStation listing references PS5 Pro enhancements.

UFC 5 launched in October 2023 to decent review scores but middling player reception, particularly around its career mode. EA Vancouver reportedly moved into full production on UFC 6 by late 2024. With under two months until release and zero gameplay shown, EA is either sitting on a very confident reveal window or hoping the pre-order money rolls in before anyone asks too many questions. I'm betting on a gameplay trailer sometime in May, but the fact that we're even guessing about this for a game releasing in June is bizarre.

Two Expansions Locked In Before UFC 6 Even Ships

EA Sports UFC 6 isn't out until June, but the $100 Ultimate Edition already bundles two paid expansions stretching into summer 2027. That's a lot of confidence in a game nobody's played yet.

Two Subs to Play One MMO? FFXIV's Switch 2 Catch

Square Enix is bringing FFXIV to Switch 2 in August, but Nintendo is requiring a separate subscription to play. Existing subscribers get 50% off, but that's still a second bill for a game you already pay for.
