In recent Microsoft news, the company confirmed that the latest Final Fantasy installment, Final Fantasy 14, will be launched on the Xbox Series X/S on March 21st. Following this announcement, the gaming community is eagerly anticipating the game's arrival on this platform.
As part of an Xbox Partner Preview event that took place on Wednesday, Microsoft also mentioned the availability of a Starter Edition of the game. This edition will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks, from March 21st to April 19th.
Leading up to the official launch of the game, Microsoft held an open beta that started in late February. This was aimed primarily at engaging new players and allowing them to experience the game before its release. However, players already immersed in the Final Fantasy 14 world on other platforms will need to await the full launch on Xbox.
It's worth remembering that the Xbox community first heard about Final Fantasy 14's arrival on the Series X/S during the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival in June 2023. Xbox leader Phil Spencer excited fans with the surprise announcement.
Keep in mind that the Xbox Series X edition of the game features impressive 4K graphics, while both the Series X and Series S versions will offer swift loading times, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
In addition to the exciting launch on Xbox, the Expanded Free Trial, currently on PC and PlayStation platforms, will be made available to Xbox players as well. The players will have the chance to undertake the journey through the complete base game, A Realm Reborn, and its initial two expansions, Heavensward and Stormblood, up to level 70 without any limits to gameplay hours.
To continue their adventures past level 70, players will need to sign up for a monthly payment plan to proceed in the game. This eagerly-awaited Final Fantasy installment is sure to provide Xbox users with an exciting and immersive gaming experience.
