Attention all intergalactic warriors! The highly anticipated PS5 exclusive, Stellar Blade, is set to launch on April 26th. However, Sony recently announced that a controversial in-game graffiti reference to a racial slur will be patched out in the game’s day-one update.

The issue arose with an in-game shop called the ‘R Shop’, where generic graffiti reading ‘Hard’ was placed next to it, creating an unintentional and offensive phrase. Shift Up, the developers behind Stellar Blade, had no intention of creating offensive artwork and have swiftly responded to the situation.

In a statement to IGN, PlayStation mentioned, “The placement of two graphics near each other in Stellar Blade resulted in an unintentionally objectionable phrase. Shift Up had no intention of creating offensive artwork and will be replacing the graffiti for the Day 1 patch.”

For those who have already pre-ordered physical copies of the game, fear not. The image will be updated in future print runs, ensuring that all players have an enjoyable and inclusive experience from the get-go.
