Spider-Man 2 Update Unintentionally Reveals Development Menu

Insomniac Games just launched a big update for its open-world action-adventure game Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but among many welcome changes, it came with an unintended one.

As shared today on X (formerly Twitter) by Insomniac itself, the update accidentally unlocked a debug menu used for development purposes.

The developer cautions against using it as it could corrupt saves and trophy progress. We also hear that a hotfix is on the way to disable the menu.

Here's the full message, which also mentions that you can play the game as usual with no risks as long as you don't use the debug menu:

"We're aware the latest game update may have inadvertently allowed access to a development game menu. There's a hotfix on the way. Please note that using this menu could corrupt your saves and trophy progress. There is no risk associated with playing the game as intended."

If you don't want to risk your saves but still want to see what the menu looks like, you can see a video below, courtesy of Twitter user star wyse.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is currently out for PS5 and it has been very successful, selling over 10 million copies worldwide as of February 4, 2024.
