Aleph One Developers has announced that they will soon release a PC port of Bungie's classic sci-fi FPS, Marathon. The game will be available on Steam, and the page is already live for players to wishlist it.

Powered by the Aleph One engine, which is available under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) Version 3, Classic Marathon will bring back the nostalgic feel of this beloved game. The Marathon trilogy game data has been distributed with permission from Bungie, hinting that this PC version might be free to play.

What can players expect from this PC port? Optional widescreen HUD support, 3D filtering/perspective, positional audio, and 60+ fps interpolation will all enhance the gameplay experience, making it the best way to enjoy this classic FPS.

It's important to note that Classic Marathon is a story-driven single-player game, differing from Bungie's current projects like Extraction or Destiny 2. So, if you're a fan of classic single-player FPS games, this one is for you.

While there is no confirmed release date yet, gamers can keep an eye out for updates. The official gameplay video of the first chapter has been shared below to give you a taste of what's to come.
