Tekken 8 In Ver.3.00.02, we addressed unintended Notes (16th April 2026)
Tekken 8's latest update takes aim at Heat mechanics that were paying out far too generously for the risk involved.
Heat mechanics have been a balancing headache in Tekken 8 since launch, and Ver.3.00.02 takes the most direct swing at them yet. Bandai Namco rolled the update out today, focusing on Heat Dash combo starters and specific Heat-related moves where, in their own words, "the reward was disproportionately high relative to the difficulty of confirming hits and the associated risks." That's a polite way of saying some of this stuff was too easy for too much payoff, and the competitive scene has known it for a while.
Beyond the Heat adjustments, the patch also addresses unintended character behaviors across the roster. One thing to flag before you dive in: replay data created before the update is gone. Downloaded replays won't play back, and all online replay data has been wiped. If you had anything saved you wanted to study, that ship has sailed.
There's a known issue too. The Command List and in-mode text in Special Style, Arcade Quest, and Practice now show discrepancies against actual move properties following the patch. Bandai Namco says a fix is coming in the next update, currently scheduled for late May. I'll take the honest acknowledgement over silence, but it's the sort of thing that shouldn't ship in the first place. Full patch notes below.

Character Move Behavior Fixes and Balance Adjustments
In Ver.3.00.02, we addressed unintended behaviors and made adjustments to Heat Dash combo starters and select Heat-related moves. For Heat-related moves, we focused on moves where the reward was disproportionately high relative to the difficulty of confirming hits and the associated risks.
The next update is scheduled for release in late May. We will continue our efforts to improve overall battle balance and create a better competitive experience.

Known Issues
The bug fixes and move property adjustments implemented in Ver.3.00.02 have affected the Command List and explanatory texts in Special Style, Arcade Quest, and Practice modes, resulting in discrepancies between the displayed information and actual move properties.
In prioritizing these adjustments, we were unable to address this issue in time, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. This issue is scheduled to be fixed in the next update, planned for release in late May.

Thank you for your continued support of TEKKEN 8.
