Squad 10.4.1 Hotfix 2 Patch Notes (11th May 2026)

Squad's second hotfix for Update 10.4.1 is out, targeting crashes, scope stutters, and a helicopter spawn issue on Al Basrah.

If you've been playing Squad with PiP scopes and Nvidia Frame Generation, you've almost certainly hit the stutter issue that's been making precision shooting feel awful. That's the headline fix in Hotfix 2 for Update 10.4.1, which went live today and requires both a client restart and a server-side update before you'll see any of the changes.

Beyond the scope stutter, two separate client crashes tied to PiP scopes have been addressed, which tells me this feature had a rougher launch than intended. The helicopter spawn failure on Al Basrah layers was the kind of bug that quietly breaks entire matches, so that getting patched quickly is good to see. There's also a fix for the QJY88 vehicle audio carrying across the entire map, which in a game built around communication and sound discipline is a bigger deal than it sounds.

SquidBots drifting out of turrets and turning invisible, missing terrain on Harju, broken physmats on Kamdesh and Mutaha affecting vehicle handling, and a mouse input bug when the minimap was open all round out the list. It's a solid sweep of issues for a second hotfix. The complete notes are below.

Hello Squaddies,

We've released Hotfix 2 for Update 10.4.1. This is a client-side and server-side update to tackle some bugs, crashes and other issues Squaddies are facing, so please RESTART your client to receive the update, Server MUST update to the newest version.

  • Fixed client stutter when using PiP scopes and Nvidia Frame Generation.
  • Fixed Steam Rich Presence so players can now join and be invited into games.
  • Fixed skin textures not properly displaying on the USMC M4.
  • Fixed an issue where helicopters were not spawning on certain layers for Al Basrah.
  • Fixed a client crash when using PiP scopes after changing upscalers.
  • Fixed a client crash when exiting the game.
  • Fixed a mouse input bug when the minimap was open.
  • Fixed an audio vehicle bug where QJY88 could be heard across the map.
  • Fixed a visual bug on Harju missing terrain near dirt road.
  • Fixed a visual bug on Harju where grass textures were missing.
  • Fixed SquidBots in turrets drifting away from their seats and becoming invisible.
  • Fixed a bug on Kamdesh and Mutaha where physmats were not applying correctly. Vehicles should have improved handling now.
