Space Engineers Hotfix 1.210.012 Patch Notes (30th July 2026)
A focused hotfix targets console players and mod stability, fixing a critical Services Terminal bug that lost stored grids on save/reload and addressing five crash vectors.

Hotfix 1.210.012 lands with a narrow but practical focus: console save integrity and mod stability. The patch is small by design, addressing specific crash vectors and one functional regression that affected console players directly.
The most significant fix here is the Services Terminal persistence issue on consoles. Stored grids would vanish when players saved and reloaded their worlds, a data loss that undermines one of the game's core storage systems. This is not a cosmetic bug. It erases player progress and resources. Console players have fewer workarounds than PC players running custom scripts or mods, so this regression carried real weight. The fix restores the expected behaviour where stored grids remain accessible across sessions.
The crash fixes target five separate vectors, most involving mod interaction with entity systems. Nulling of position components during entity removal was causing mod crashes, a problem that ripples through any mod touching physics or positioning. The Searchlight block grinding crash, the sun tracking construct removal crash, and the welder-projection-grid removal crash are all specific scenarios, but they share a pattern: they occur when the game removes or modifies blocks in ways that interact with rendering or component systems. These aren't exotic edge cases. Sun tracking is a common build technique, grinding is constant, and welding projections happens in most creative sessions. Mod developers will see immediate stability gains, particularly those working with custom blocks or entity lifecycle hooks.
The Ping button fix addresses a silent failure when players attempted to ping grids built on an enemy's territory. The button would fail without feedback, leaving players uncertain whether the ping was blocked by permissions or a technical issue. Now the behaviour is explicit, which matters for multiplayer coordination and PvP scenarios where communication clarity prevents frustration.
What's conspicuously absent is any mention of the broader console feature parity roadmap. Console players still lack access to mods entirely, and this hotfix only addresses stability within the existing feature set. The Services Terminal fix is essential, but it doesn't expand what console players can do. It restores what they should have been able to do. This patch tells you that console stability remains a priority, but the larger question of mod support or feature parity remains unaddressed. For PC players, this is a straightforward stability release with minimal disruption. For console players, it's a necessary correction that should have been there from the start.
