PUBG: Battlegrounds Patch Notes - Update 41.2 (12th May 2026)

Update 41.2 brings a new heist mode, melee execution animations, and a Harley-Davidson crossover, plus a heads-up that six weapons are leaving the game next month.

Six weapons are on the chopping block. Starting with the June update, the Mosin Nagant, R45, DP-28, PP-19 Bizon, P1911, and QBU will all be removed from PUBG: Battlegrounds entirely, skins included. If you own affected crates or bundles, compensation is coming, but the weapons themselves are gone. That's a significant cull, and players who've invested in those loadouts will want to plan around it now.

The bigger headline for Update 41.2 is the new PAYDAY mode, a heist-themed limited event, alongside melee executions, which let you finish downed enemies with the Machete, Sickle, Crowbar, or Pan by holding the interaction key. It's a small thing on paper, but it adds real flavour to close-quarters finishes that previously felt flat. The Blue Chip Tower Supply Call has also been rebalanced again, dropping back to 2 Blue Chips while reducing item rates and cutting the plane flyover entirely to kill the noise fatigue.

PC maintenance is scheduled for May 13 between 00:00 and 08:30 UTC, with console following on May 21. Here's everything that changed.

Collaboration: Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson Container

  • An exclusive Harley-Davidson container is available on the starting islands of Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Vikendi, Taego, Deston, and Rondo.

  • The container can only be unlocked by players who own Harley-Davidson skins.

    • If multiple Harley-Davidson skins are concurrently equipped, the system will randomly select one to display.

  • Only the player who unlocks the container and their teammates can operate or ride in the Harley-Davidson vehicle.

  • This feature can be utilized from the start of the match until players board the plane; once they do, the previously positioned container and the HARLEY-DAVIDSON™ vehicle will disappear.

  • Available in Normal Match, Ranked, and Casual Mode.

    • You can also meet the Harley-Davidson Container in Rumble, the weekend-limited competitive mode!

  • The Harley-Davidson Container will be available until the next update goes live.

World: Miramar

Secret Room

Hidden deep within Miramar’s rugged deserts and cliffs are Secret Rooms that lead into abandoned mines. Traverse the dark underground passages and unlock doors with special Secret Room Keys to discover high-value loot that appears to have been hidden away for years.

Search for Secret Rooms amid the sandstorms of Miramar and secure rare items!

  • Secret Rooms containing high-value items have been added throughout Miramar.

  • Secret Rooms can be accessed using the world-spawned Secret Room Keys.

  • Available in Normal and Custom Matches.

Gameplay

New Feature: Execution with Melee Weapons

You can now execute downed enemies using melee weapons.

  • Available Melee Weapons : Machete, Sickle, Crowbar, Pan

  • Targets : Downed Enemies

    • Downed enemies cannot be inside a vehicle or being carried by another player.

  • How to Execute: Hold the interaction key (F) on a downed enemy.

  • Once the Execution initiated, the animation cannot be canceled. The action will be interrupted if the executing player dies or is displaced during the animation.

Developer’s Comment:

As introduced in our Roadmap video, PUBG in 2026 is bringing “Execution” animations to deliver a more stylish combat experience. This new action feature provides a more impactful way to eliminate enemies using melee weapons.

Previously, finishing off downed enemies often felt repetitive and lacked variety. With this update, players now have an additional tactical option beyond gunfire: executing enemies with melee weapons for a more satisfying combat finish.

The Execution feature is designed as an expandable feature rather than one-time additional content. While it launches with four melee weapons, we plan to continue expanding the system with additional weapons and themed animations to broaden both expression and gameplay choices.

Moving forward, we’ll continue enhancing the excitement and expressiveness of combat while preserving PUBG’s signature tension and intensity.

  • Supply Drops are no longer delivered by plane, reducing the drop spread area.

  • The time between completing the cast and receiving the supply crate has been reduced.

  • The number of items obtainable from the supply crate has been reduced.

  • The drop rates for items obtainable from the supply crate have been lowered.

Developer’s Comment:

The Blue Chip Tower Supply Call feature added in Update 41.1 was introduced to provide players with more tactical options beyond reviving teammates during combat situations.

However, following the update, the feature was used more frequently than anticipated, resulting in increased acquisition of supply weapons and fatigue caused by frequent airplane sounds.

To address this, we implemented overall balance adjustments on April 15 to make Supply Drop Call-ins a more strategic choice. The required number of Blue Chips was increased from 2 to 4 to reduce usage frequency, while the supply crate composition and item probabilities were adjusted to lower reward expectations.

With Update 41.2, we’ve reworked the feature once again based on player feedback. To keep Supply Drop Call-ins accessible without making them overly mandatory, we lowered the cost back to 2 Blue Chips while increasing the casting time and reducing item acquisition rates.

Additionally, supply drops are now delivered instantly without a plane, helping reduce noise fatigue during matches.

Through these improvements, we hope Supply Drop Call-ins become an optional tactical tool rather than a mandatory gameplay element. We will continue monitoring gameplay data and making balance adjustments accordingly.

Developer’s Comment:

As introduced in the PUBG Roadmap 2026, we’re excited to launch Rumble with the 41.2 Update.

Rumble was designed to provide a competitive experience without the pressure typically associated with Ranked tiers. By removing concerns over rank loss, players can focus on experimenting with strategies and achieving success through teamwork.

Additionally, we wanted to emphasize the experience of “surviving together until the very end,” which is why Survival Time contributes to scoring alongside aggressive playstyles. We hope this encourages not only combat-focused gameplay but also strategic decision-making.

Going forward, we will continue improving Rumble as a recurring weekend experience based on player feedback and participation data.
