Old School RuneScape Mobile Character Switcher Out Now! Pa (7th April)

The Mobile Character Switcher is live in Old School RuneScape as of today, rolling out via client update 237.4. If your app hasn't updated yet, check your store manually. The feature can take a little time to reach all devices.

The switcher lets you cycle between up to 20 characters tied to your Jagex Account, displayed four per page on a dedicated screen. Your default will always be whichever character you last logged in with on that device, and a gold or silver star next to each name tells you at a glance whether it's a members or F2P account. One thing worth flagging: switching characters does not automatically change your world, so keep an eye on that before you load in.

Character order defaults to creation date, but you can rearrange them through Account and Character Management whenever you like. Credit where it's due, this is a genuinely useful quality-of-life addition for anyone juggling multiple accounts on mobile. Full patch notes below.

You can now officially chop and change between whichever character you have linked to your Jagex Account that you fancy, all from your mobile login screen.

Here's a quick TLDR of the mobile character switcher need-to-knows:

• It's out now! The feature released as part of a client update, which does sometimes mean it can take time to roll out across all devices. Make sure to check that your app is on the latest client version 237.4, and check your app stores for updates if not. If you can’t see the image above, click here!
• If you have more than one character attached to your account you'll be shown an extra option on the usual character select screen. Your default character on the initial menu will always be the character you last logged into on that device. If you can’t see the image above, click here!
• When you head into the "Switch character" option, you'll see up to 20 available characters, four to a page.
• In the character select menu, you'll see a handy little star by each name to denote whether that character is a members or free-to-play account. Silver for F2P, gold for members, just like in the world lists.
• After selecting the character you want to play, you'll be taken back to the Play Now screen where you can change worlds or head straight into game.
• By default, your characters appear in the order they were created. If you'd like to change the order, head to Account and Character Management for your Jagex Account, click "Edit Characters" and drag the desired characters nearer the top into your preferred order. You can change this whenever you feel like, too.

It's as simple as that really! Enjoy any character at any time with just a quick tap-tap-tap. Happy mobile-'scaping!
