Marvel Rivals Balance Post Patch Notes (11th July 2026)

NetEase has rolled out an emergency balance hotfix for Marvel Rivals following Season 9's launch, with significant adjustments to Strategists, Duelists, and several Team-Up combinations.

NetEase has deployed an emergency hotfix for Marvel Rivals following Season 9's launch, and it's a sweeping one. The studio's telemetry shows Strategists have been absorbing far too much pressure on the front lines, so healing-to-energy conversion efficiency for the entire class jumps from 60% to 70%. That's the kind of breathing room supports needed.

Duelists get the most attention here. Cyclops and Phoenix both receive damage buffs to compensate for the removal of Team-Up Anchors, whilst Black Widow's post-overhaul toolkit gains a minor damage boost across her rifle and charged abilities. Psylocke, however, takes the hit: her Psionic Crossbow damage drops from 13 to 12, and her Team-Up synergies with both Emma Frost and Cloak & Dagger are being dialled back considerably.

On the Strategist side, Invisible Woman and Jubilee both get Ultimate Ability cost reductions, whilst Mantis and Ultron (with Peni Parker) face healing nerfs. The full breakdown includes every Team-Up adjustment, from Gambit's Healing Hearts buff to Iron Man's Unibeam outer ring nerf.

ADJUSTMENTS

In the wake of the Season 9 launch, our temporal scanners have been working overtime, analyzing battlefield telemetry and listening to chatter from you, the community. We've seen the meta shifting, and to ensure the combat arena remains as dynamic and competitive as possible, we are deploying this emergency hotfix. Rest assured, our Watchers will remain vigilant, and further recalibrations will be made as new threats emerge.

GLOBAL CHANGES

The front lines of Season 9 have been intense. We've seen our Strategists absorbing more pressure than ever, which has suppressed their efficiency in gaining Ultimate Ability energy. Therefore, we will be partially reverting the efficiency of Ultimate Ability energy gained from healing actions for Strategists. 

  • Increase healing-to-energy conversion efficiency for all Strategists from 60% to 70%.
  • Fixed an issue where Black Panther would incorrectly accumulate a damage boost when his recoverable shield was restoring, causing abnormal damage.

Black Widow

- Increase Red Room Rifle damage per hit from 40 to 45. Adjust max damage falloff from 80% at 40m to 75% at 40m.
- Increase Electro-plasma Blast from 40 (no charge) - 60 (full charge) to 50 - 70.

Cyclops
- Increase Optic Blast damage per tick from 21 to 22.
- Increase Ricochet Force direct hit damage from 70 to 75.
- When selecting the Team-Up with Gambit, reduce cooldown from 18s to 15s.

Iron Man
- When selecting the Team-Up with Thor, reduce the Unibeam outer ring damage from 84/s to 70/s (standard) and from 108/s to 85/s (Armor Overdrive).

Phoenix
- Increase Cosmic Flames damage per hit from 55 to 60.
- When selecting the Team-Up with Rogue, increase both direct hit damage and subsequent ricochet damage from 40 to 45, and reduce ability cooldown from 12s to 10s.

Psylocke
- Reduce Psionic Crossbow base damage per shot from 13 to 12. Adjust damage falloff from starting at 15m to starting at 8m.
- When selecting the Team-Up with Emma Frost, reduce the bonus health provided to self from a single hit of Wing Shurikens from 15 to 12. Reduce illusion duration from 5s to 3s. Reduce illusion damage from 30% of Pyslocke's to 15%.
- When selecting the Team-Up with Cloak & Dagger, reduce Psionic Crossbow base damage per shot from 14 to 13.

STRATEGIST

Gambit
- After activating Healing Hearts, increase self-healing from 20/s to 30/s.
- Increase Bridge Boost healing per bounce from 50 to 65.
- When selecting the Team-Up with Magneto, increase the area healing from 50/s to 55/s.

Invisible Woman
- Increase healing when retrieving Orb Projection from 40 to 45
- Increase self-healing provided by Guardian Shield from 15/s to 20/s.
- When selecting the Team-Up with Mister Fantastic, increase the healing over time from 15/s to 25/s.
- Increase Invisible Boundary (Ultimate Ability) healing from 180/s to 200/s. Reduce energy cost from 4500 to 4300.

Jubilee
- Reduce the energy cost of Firework Finale (Ultimate Ability) from 4500 to 4300.
- Reduce charge required for Blooming Ball from 300 to 250. Increase base healing from 30/s to 35/s (healing at max size, 50/s, remains unchanged.)
- When selecting the Team-Up with Blade, increase the Lifesteal ratio from 25% to 30%.

Luna Snow
- Reduce the energy cost of Fate of Both Worlds (Ultimate Ability) from 5000 to 4800.

Mantis
- Reduce healing provided by Healing Flower from (15 + 3% of Max Health)/s to (12 + 3% of Max Health)/s.
- When selecting the Team-Up with Star-Lord, reduce the enhanced healing from (17.5 + 3.5% of Max Health)/s to (15 + 3.5% of Max Health)/s.

Rocket Raccoon
- When selecting the Team-Up with Groot, increase the area healing provided by a single spore from 15 to 20.
- When selecting the Team-Up with Squirrel Girl, increase the healing provided by a single acorn from 20 to 30.

Ultron
- When selecting the Team-Up with Peni Parker, reduce the healing provided by drones attached to other allies from 35/s to 15/s; increase ability cooldown from 15s to 20s.
