iRacing 2026 Season 2 Patch 2 Release [2026.04.06.02] Patch Notes (7th April 2026)
iRacing's second patch of Season 2 is live today, bringing expanded Balance of Performance controls, AI racing fixes, and a round of car and track polish.
2026 Season 2 Patch 2 dropped today for iRacing, and the headliner is a meaningful expansion to the Balance of Performance system. Engine power can now be tuned above 100% for the first time, up to 110%, and vehicle weight adjustments now allow negative values down to -50kg. That opens up BoP configurations that simply weren't possible before, which hosted league organisers in particular will want to dig into.
On the AI side, a lap-counting error that caused the sim to underestimate race progress when you quit mid-event has been fixed, and AI drivers have improved their opening lap behaviour with better handling of tyre and surface temperature changes. The Milwaukee Mile also gets specific AI attention. These are the kinds of quiet fixes that make offline and solo racing noticeably less frustrating over time.
Elsewhere, the Throttle/Brake UI widget now supports up to 30 seconds of graph playback and gains horizontal reference lines for easier telemetry reading. Car-side, the TCR power scaling error at the Nürburgring Nordschleife has been corrected, and several damage model tweaks land across the Street Stock, Audi 90 GTO, and Super Late Model. Sebring, Mount Panorama, and St. Petersburg all receive track-side polish.

- Fixed an issue where AI Drivers could fail to post Qualifying times if the player advanced the event too quickly. The AI Drivers now operate at simulated lightning speed, and will post Qualifying times.
- In AI Solo events, when the player quits the race between the green and checkered flags, the AI race results are estimated. An error in lap counting resulted in an underestimation of the laps completed by the AI. The error had no impact if the player quit during the first lap, but the effect was exaggerated the later into the event the player quit in the race. This error is fixed.
- AI Drivers have improved their opening lap times - they are better able to handle the tire and surface temperature changes throughout the course of their first laps.
- AI Drivers have improved their racing skills at The Milwaukee Mile. kg-card-end: html
