inZOI Outfit Mod Compatibility Notice for the ModKit (17th June 2026)
The inZOI team is updating character LOD3 data for performance reasons, and it means outfit mod creators have work to do.

If you're running outfit mods in inZOI, tomorrow's Character Optimization update is going to affect them. The team is updating the bone information used for LOD3 characters to improve performance in lower-spec environments, which means older outfit mods may display broken skinning when characters transition to that detail level.
The good news: mod creators don't need to redo rigging or weight painting. The fix is straightforward. Open your existing outfit mod in the new ModKit version (dropping tomorrow), let it auto-update the LOD3 compatibility data, and re-upload to CurseForge. The platform's Cloud Cooking system handles the rest automatically. This isn't a crash, it's a visual compatibility issue that only shows up at LOD3, so characters will look fine at normal detail levels.
If you've uploaded outfit mods using an older ModKit version, you'll want to grab the update and run through this process to keep your work compatible.
Full Patch Notes
Hello, Creators.
To improve animation performance in low-spec environments as part of the Character Optimization update, the Bone information used for Character LOD3 is scheduled to be updated on 6/18 (Thu).
As a result of this change, in some outfit mods created or uploaded using an earlier version of ModKit, characters' skinning may appear broken when they switch to LOD3.
◆ What Should a Mod Creator Do?
No separate manual rigging adjustments or skin-weight rework are required.
Open your existing outfit mod project in the new version of ModKit with these LOD3 changes applied, update it, then upload it to CurseForge again.
After uploading, CurseForge Cloud Cooking runs automatically, and the updated LOD3 compatibility information is reflected during this process.
◆ How to Proceed
1. Update to the new ModKit version to be released on 6/18 (Thu).
2. In the new version of ModKit, open the existing outfit mod project.
3. If a Save or Update Notice appears, proceed.
4. Upload the project to CurseForge again.
5. After uploading, CurseForge Cloud Cooking runs automatically.
◆ Notes
- Outfit mods created or uploaded using an earlier version of ModKit may be affected.
- This issue may be visible when the character transitions to LOD3.
- This isn’t a crash-related issue; it’s a visual compatibility issue that may cause the outfit mesh to look incorrect at LOD3.
- You do not need to make manual rigging edits, do weight painting, or edit LODs.
Thank you.
