After yesterday's platform-partner delay, patch 6.2.5 is now live across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, developed in collaboration with Nixxes Software. This one is almost entirely a technical update, and it's a substantial one.

The headliners are upscaling and latency. FSR 4.0.3, DLSS 4.5, and XeSS 3.0 are all in, alongside NVIDIA Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2 for their respective GPU users. Dynamic Resolution Scaling lands on PC and PS5, and as a direct result Arrowhead has bumped the Performance preset resolution to 1440p on both PS5 and Xbox Series X. PS5 Power Saver mode gets the same 1440p upgrade. VRR support also arrives for PS5 and PS5 Pro, which should make a real difference in chaotic firefights where frame pacing tends to fall apart. I've been waiting on VRR for PS5 specifically, so this is overdue.

On the fixes side, the manual ledge-climb bug is resolved, VRAM management on PC has been improved for lower-spec systems, and high reflection performance gets a boost. Full patch notes below.

Attention Helldivers,

As the fight for Managed Democracy rages on, Super Earth’s finest engineers have been hard at work making every drop into hostile territory smoother.

Together with our friends at Nixxes Software, we’ve deployed an update with improvements across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. From upscaling technologies and latency-reduction features to various optimizations and stability fixes, this patch is built to help you stay on target when the battlefield gets chaotic.

Below you’ll find the latest upgrades and fixes deployed in service of Super Earth.

Patch Highlights

Added support for upscalers:

  • FSR 3.1.5
  • GPUs that support it will run FSR 4.0.3
  • DLSS 4.5
  • XeSS 3.0
    • Added Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for PS5 and PS5 Pro
    • Added Variable Rate Shading (VRS) for supported devices
    • VRS can help improve performance by reducing shading rates on certain areas of the image, resulting in less work for the GPU for similar looking close pixels
    • Added support for DRS on PC and PS5
    • With the introduction of DRS on all platforms we have also upped the resolution on Xbox Series X and PS5 to 1440p in the Performance preset
    • We have also upped the resolution in PS5 Power Saver mode to 1440p
    • Added NVIDIA's Reflex for NVIDIA GPUs
    • Added AMD's Anti-Lag 2 for AMD GPUs

    🔧Fixes

    • Fixed an issue where Helldivers were unable to manually climb small obstacles and ledges without auto-climb.
    • Fixed multiple rendering issues and improved performance and image quality across all platforms.
    • Added additional resolution options in the display settings for monitors with a wide range of available resolutions.
    • Improved the performance of the high reflection setting.
    • Improved VRAM management on PC to improve performance on systems with limited VRAM.
    • Inviting non-friends via the social menus recent-tab will now send a PSN system invite if both are on PSN
