Hearthstone 35.6.2 Patch Notes (11th June 2026)
Patch 35.6.2 launches today with targeted nerfs to Hunter and Demon Hunter, plus Battlegrounds rebalancing ahead of the new expansion.

Patch 35.6.2 is live, and it's a pre-expansion housekeeping pass. With Escape from Violet Hold arriving next month, Blizzard is pruning the current meta's strongest decks before the shakeup arrives. Hunter takes the biggest hit, Confront the Tol'vir jumps from 3 to 4 mana, directly targeting No Hand and Companion builds that have been showing up far too often. Demon Hunter's No Minion archetype loses power too, with The Eternal Hold's free minion cost bumped to 1 mana, which sounds small but changes how the deck functions.
Battlegrounds gets the heavier treatment. Dragons are being reined in across the board, Bronze and Green Chromadrake both lose stats, and Twilight Hatchling's attack reduction should make the Ring Bearer comp less suffocating. Blizzard removed Egg of the Endtimes entirely to stop that strategy from assembling too consistently. On the flip side, Beasts, Murlocs, Quilboar, and Undead all get support through returning minions and stat buffs. Bream Counter and Primitive Painter are stronger, giving those tribes a real shot at viability.

Hearthstone Updates
Dev Comment: Well met! With a new expansion on the horizon, we’re taking this opportunity to tone down some dominant cards from the current meta. We’ve had our eye on these cards for a while but held off since the meta was in a mostly balanced spot. Now, with a major shakeup on the way, it feels like the right time to bring these powerhouses down a notch.
Confront the Tol'vir
- Old: [3 Mana]
- New: [4 Mana]
- Dev Comment: Dev Comment: Confront the Tol’vir has been weakened to rein in the strength of No Hand Hunter and Companion Hunter builds. Hunter has been showing up a bit too often, and this adjustment should help bring things back into a healthier range. Interestingly, Hunter has been appearing more often than its power level alone would suggest, pointing to a particularly compelling play pattern. Given that popularity, we’re opting for a simple mana nerf for now to make it a bit weaker instead of less interesting. We’ll continue to closely monitor Hunter (and Tol’vir) going forward.

The Eternal Hold
- Old: If your deck has no minions, your next one costs (0).
- New: If your deck has no minions, your next one costs (1).
- Dev Comment: Despite costing 6 mana, Eternal Hold has been one of the strongest cards to keep in your opening hand. This shows that a lot of power was concentrated into this single card in No Minion Demon Hunter, and this change should help bring the card's performance more in line with the rest of the field.

Hatchery Helper
- Old: Battlecry: Give your other minions with 2 or less Attack +1/+2 and Taunt.
- New: Battlecry: Give your other minions with 2 or less Attack +1/+1 and Taunt.
- Dev Comment: Hatchery Helper has been adjusted as part of our continued effort to tune Token Druid. This archetype has been resilient through multiple changes, so we’re taking another incremental step here to keep it in check.

Twilight Egg
- Old: Deathrattle: Summon a 2/2 Whelp.
- New: Deathrattle: Summon a 2/1 Whelp.
- Dev Comment: Twilight Egg is a particularly efficient neutral option which has centralized early game strategies for a variety of midrange and board-based aggro decks. We’re dialing it back to help rein in these decks. This one sparked a bit of internal debate as we kicked around which number to tweak! In the end, we landed on Health, since the real frustration is how much effort it takes to clear the Whelp. This is a relatively light-touch adjustment, and it’s a card we’ll continue to keep an eye on.

The above cards will be eligible for full dust refunds for two weeks following Patch 35.6.2.
Crystallized Leyline
- Old: Summon a 5-Cost minion.
- New: Summon a 6-Cost minion.
- Dev Comment: On the flip side, Crystallized Leyline is receiving a buff. Our previous adjustment didn’t quite land where we wanted it to, so we’re rolling back the previous reduction we gave it alongside our earlier buff to give it a better chance to make an impact.

Arena Updates
The following cards have been added to the Arena draft pool:
- Bursting Leyline
- Mystic Runesaber
- Leywalker
- Crystallized Leyline
- Surge Needle
- Leyline Nexus
- Baleful Blazer
- Destructive Phoenix
- Primordial Lord
- Tunneling Geomancer
Battlegrounds Updates
Dev Comment: We’re overall quite happy with the meta after the midseason update, but there were a few adjustments we wanted to make. First, we buffed several minions to support Beasts, Murlocs, Quilboar, and Undead, and brought back Felhorn, Costume Enthusiast, and Trench Fighter for some extra help.
For nerfs, we focused mostly on Dragons. One notable card we chose not to nerf directly is Ring Bearer. While its power level is fairly reasonable, its play rate is very high. We wanted to keep the strategy viable, but make it significantly less prevalent. To do that, we removed Egg of the Endtimes (and its related Trinkets) to reduce how easily and consistently the comp can be assembled. We also nerfed Twilight Hatchling to lower the number of attacks you can reasonably have in a single combat. We’ll be watching to see if these changes are enough to bring the strategy in line, and will make further adjustments in a future patch if needed.
For Trinkets, our changes are fairly straightforward, focused on smoothing out the power of the highest- and lowest-performing options. We also banned several Trinkets from specific Anomalies that were causing unfun or unintended interactions.
We’ll continue to monitor how things develop and make additional balance changes as needed, likely a bit after Violet Hold launches. Have fun, and we’ll see you in the Tavern!
