Fragpunk Patch Notes (29th July 2026)
Three concurrent summer events launch on July 30, led by the Coconut Doomsday event featuring Jaguar cosmetics. The update deploys without downtime, and Mirror Clash returns for competitive players.

Fragpunk's July 29 update is a live event push rather than a balance pass. The patch deploys without interrupting active play, though matchmaking may experience brief delays as the servers transition. This approach matters for competitive players mid-session: you won't be forced into a client restart or lobby kick, but queue times may spike temporarily as the backend settles.
Three events activate simultaneously on July 30, each targeting different player motivations. Coconut Doomsday is the cosmetic centrepiece, offering a Jaguar Beach Boy skin alongside six stickers, a kill counter, and currency rewards. The Seaside Check-in event runs daily login loops with lighter cosmetics and 776 Gold spread across the week, making it accessible to casual players who log in once per session. Mirror Clash, the returning limited-time mode, is the competitive draw: it's a 1v1 format where you face an identical copy of your own character, which eliminates character imbalance as a variable and forces pure mechanical skill. Completing its challenges yields cosmetics and 500 Glunite Coins.
The reward structure reveals how Bad Guitar Studio prioritises engagement. Coconut Doomsday's reward pool is weighted toward cosmetics and premium currency (Skin Keys, Ultra Cans), designed to encourage event participation over time. The Seaside Check-in deliberately front-loads Gold rewards to incentivise daily returns, with 776 Gold representing a meaningful chunk of premium currency that players might otherwise purchase. Mirror Clash's 500 Glunite Coins sit between the two, rewarding competitive play without requiring cosmetic purchases. This tiering suggests the studio is testing which event type drives retention most effectively.
What the patch notes do not address is whether these events rotate on a fixed schedule or respond to seasonal calendars. Coconut Doomsday's branding suggests a summer-limited run, but no end date is specified. For players planning cosmetic budgets or deciding whether to spend premium currency now or wait, that absence is material. Similarly, Mirror Clash's return is framed as limited-time, but the notes offer no clarity on whether this is an one-week event or a longer rotation, nor whether it will return again in future patches.
The silence on balance changes is itself notable. This is a pure content drop: no weapon adjustments, no hero tweaks, no map modifications. If the previous patch left unresolved balance issues, they remain unresolved. For competitive players, that means the meta is frozen until the next balance update, which may not arrive until after these events conclude.
