EVE Online Patch Notes for 20 .1 (21st July 2026)
Operation Avalon wraps up today with the final patch for EVE Vanguard's alpha playtest, bringing free squad reclones and overhauled NPC combat across both games.

Operation Avalon closes its doors at downtime on 20 July, marking the end of EVE Vanguard's first alpha playtest. The 0.72 patch lands today with several quality-of-life improvements designed to smooth out the extraction shooter's rougher edges.
Squads now spawn with free reclones by default, removing one friction point from deployment. You'll also drop in with militia-grade variants of the Keshik, Praetorian, and Flayer already equipped, so new players aren't forced to grind loadouts before their first firefight. CCP has retuned NPC behaviour across the board, sharpening their combat responses, reaction times, and movement patterns to make encounters feel less predictable.
On the tutorial side, the studio has layered in more in-game guidance for extraction and expedition mechanics, addressing feedback from alpha testers who found those systems opaque. Meanwhile, EVE Online's half of the event continues with AEGIS squalls carrying intel across New Eden. Hunt them for quick payouts or track them to riskier, higher-reward locations. The full patch notes, including every NPC adjustment and tutorial addition, are below.
