Mark May 19 on your calendar: Dune: Awakening's Update 1.4 is confirmed, and it's bringing two new Overland Map locations alongside fresh Landsraad Missions. The Wind Pass, a former Harkonnen tech hub now under Water Shipper control, and the Old Quarry Testing Station, where a morally questionable scientist named Dr. Jalanta is running a hidden lab, are the headliners. These build on the endgame systems from Chapter 3, and the scalable Testing Station in particular sounds like it addresses one of the bigger complaints about endgame content variety.

Launching alongside the update is the Water Wars DLC, the final piece of the Season Pass. It adds Water Shipper-themed building parts and cosmetics, priced at $9.99 standalone or included in the $24.99 Season Pass. No new story content is coming in 1.4, which is a fair trade if the team is prioritising the highly requested features they mention, I'll reserve judgement until we see what those actually are.

Funimcom also used this announcement to spotlight the PvP/PvE split introduced in the previous patch, which let players tackle the full endgame without mandatory PvP. That was a good call, and it's encouraging to see the studio responding to feedback rather than defending a design they'd already shipped.

Here's the full breakdown.

Full Patch Notes

Greetings Sleepers,

It is written. Dune: Awakening’s next update, 1.4, arrives on May 19, bringing new locations, missions, and the final DLC included in the Season Pass.

New Overland Locations and Missions

The free 1.4 update expands the Overland Map with two new areas, including a scalable Testing Station, accompanied by new Landsraad Missions. Players will encounter:

  • The Wind Pass, once a Harkonnen tech hub, now a key point in Arrakis’ water trade under the control of the Water Shippers.
  • The Old Quarry Testing Station, where players will confront the morally questionable scientist Dr. Jalanta, operating from a hidden laboratory.

These additions build on the endgame systems introduced in the Chapter 3 update.

Update 1.4 does not add new story content. Instead, the team is focusing on highly requested features and systems, with major narrative updates planned for the future.

Water Wars DLC Arrives

Launching alongside the update is The Water Wars DLC, the final component of the Season Pass. This pack includes Water Shipper–themed building pieces and cosmetics inspired by the faction that dominates Arrakis’ water economy.

The Water Wars DLC is priced at $9.99 and is included in the Season Pass ($24.99), which also contains the Lost Harvest DLC and the Raiders of the Broken Lands DLC. The Season Pass is included in both the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions.

PvP Now Fully Optional

We also want to highlight the recent 1.3.20.0 patch, which introduced the ability to choose between PvP and PvE. This was implemented directly in response to community feedback. This allows players to experience the full endgame without engaging in player-versus-player combat.

The team is hard at work making Dune: Awakening even better and we hope to be able to talk to you about this soon. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the new DLC and Update, and as always, we look forward to hearing from you on how we can make the game even better.
