Disney Dreamlight Valley Pixel Perfect Update Notes (27th July 2026)
Pixel Perfect lands on 29 July with a complete friendship overhaul, Ralph's arrival, and the long-requested Best Friends system that unlocks daily hangouts and permanent role bonuses.
The Pixel Perfect update arriving on 29 July is anchored by a friendship system redesign that changes how you interact with villagers. The Best Friends mechanic allows a new Gold Heart progress bar to appear and reset daily once a villager reaches Level 10 Friendship. Filling it once per day unlocks a hangout with that villager, which grants a temporary "Best Friend Glow" that applies maximum-level role bonuses across all roles simultaneously. This is not a cosmetic feature. It's a permanent efficiency gain that stacks across multiple friends, making daily hangout management a core progression loop rather than optional flavour.
Level 7 friendships gain a new practical function: item gathering assistance. You can request one item related to a friend's base roles from any unlocked biome, and they'll collect more overnight. There's no limit to how many friends you can request help from, and they remain available in the Valley while searching. This addresses a friction point for players grinding specific ingredients, though the one-item-per-friend-per-day ceiling means it's a supplement to active gathering, not a replacement. The quality-of-life improvements around gifts are smaller but meaningful: you can now re-roll each villager's favourite gift once daily, and select multiple items from inventory to gift in a single action. Training Manuals can now change any villager's role at any level, removing the previous level-gating that forced players to wait for role unlocks.
Ralph's arrival via the arcade machine questline brings Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope content, but the update's scope extends beyond new characters. Three new floating islands themed after Storybook Vale biomes arrive for expansion owners. Olaf's Grand Exhibition opens two rooms centred on Sunlit Plateau and Frosted Heights. The decorating toolset gains biome-specific crafting recipes and a Quick Save feature in Edit Mode. A direct response to lost progress complaints. Environmental Effects become a dedicated decor category, with the Meteor Shower Sky arriving as the first example in the Premium Shop.
DreamSnaps voting receives a Super Vote option allowing you to vote for both presented images simultaneously, with two Super Votes available daily. The UI for 1v1 voting has been standardised so both images occupy equal space. Seasonal events stack heavily: Summer Sizzle returns 5-18 August with the first-ever dock building, Parks Floating Festival arrives 19 August to 8 September, and Memory Mania returns 16-29 September with a new Joy companion and difference-spotting quests.
One critical caveat: the Clear Biome feature in Furniture mode discovered a critical bug and has been removed from Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Epic versions. Nintendo and Apple versions still contain it, and players are advised to avoid using it pending a hotfix. This feature will return in a later update. The update is free for all players, though Apple Arcade Edition excludes seasonal Star Paths and Premium Shop access. The scope here signals the developers are prioritising friendship depth and decorating accessibility over major new mechanics. A consolidation update that addresses long-standing friction points rather than reinventing the core loop.

Please note: Disney Dreamlight Valley Apple Arcade Edition does not include seasonal Star Paths or access to the Premium Shop.
The Pixel Perfect update was originally meant to include a "Clear Biome" feature in Furniture mode. Unfortunately, we discovered a critical bug in this feature last week, and have patched it out of the Xbox, PlayStation, Steam and Epic versions of the Pixel Perfect update. However, the feature will still be present in the Nintendo and Apple versions of the update and using it could impact various quests' progress. We recommend that our Nintendo and Apple players avoid using this feature for the time being. A hotfix will be deployed to patch the incompatible Clear Biome feature out of the Pixel Perfect update on Nintendo and Apple in the coming days. The feature will return in a later update.
