Deltarune Chapter 5 v0.0.247 Patch Notes (9th July 2026)
Toby Fox's team has patched Chapter 5 to squash memory leaks that were tanking PS4 stability, plus several softlocks and combat glitches.

Deltarune Chapter 5 has received v0.0.247, a stability and bug-fix patch that addresses some of the chapter's thorniest issues. The big one here is memory leaks that were causing random crashes on PlayStation 4, which should make the experience considerably less frustrating for console players.
Beyond stability, the patch tackles several combat and progression headaches. An armour that wasn't granting its promised invincibility frames against the chapter boss now works correctly, and a softlock during the Rude Buster platforming battle has been eliminated. There's also a fix for the bread-smashing time attack's display bug and a correction to aqua miniboss bullet grazing that was incorrectly extending attack duration. The team has also cleaned up various visual glitches, including train blueprints floating where they shouldn't and overlapping textboxes.
One clarification worth noting: the chapter boss difficulty adjustment mentioned in recent patch notes only kicks in after six losses in a single session, capping at sixteen, so most players won't notice its effect at all. The full list, including fixes for the JusticeAxe progression bug and the SOUL cage display error, is below.

CLARIFICATION OF PREVIOUS PATCH NOTES
A modification to the chapter boss which makes the battle easier was mentioned recently.
To be clear, this battle only becomes extremely slightly easier each time the player loses from 6 times
to a maximum of 16 times in a single gameplay session. If you lose to the boss 5 times or less, this
change has no effect on you, and even losing to him 6 or 7 times has so little of an effect that the
average player would not notice a meaningful difference.
We will continue to address issues as quickly as we can.
Thank you for your patience and for playing the game!
