Dead by Daylight players have until 30th July to update certain software and drivers, or risk losing access to the game entirely. Behaviour Interactive's security team has identified exploitable vulnerabilities across several utility categories and is enforcing stricter requirements to protect the game's integrity.

The affected software spans a broad range: RGB and motherboard utilities, CPU and GPU overclocking tools, certain BIOS utilities, hardware monitoring software, applications using direct port access, OEM updaters, and third-party anticheat or antivirus utilities. The studio hasn't published a specific list of problematic versions, citing the risk of alerting bad actors to potential exploits.

This is a blunt security measure, and it'll inconvenience players who rely on overclocking or system monitoring tools. If you're unsure whether your setup falls foul of the new requirements, Behaviour has directed players to contact their support team at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/ rather than guessing. The full official security announcement outlines each affected utility category.
